My experience using the University of Liberia’s Main Library as an undergraduate Political Science Major from 1977-1980: I used the library regularly (five days per week: Monday to Friday)for three major purposes during this period: A. To read reserved materials for various courses in Political Science. B. To conduct research for writing various papers in Political Science (major) and Public Administration (minor). C. To study. The library had very quiet areas, where one could study, and I benefited from this tremendously. Clearly, the library had various constraints, including the holdings—-there was a shortage of current books in Political Science and Public Administration—–, and the size of the library (one floor on top of the administration building) was quite small for a university. In spite of this, the library staff was consistently helpful; and I credit them for my academic success.
